My "Conclusion"

It has been nearly a month since I moved to this beautiful country of France, and I have finally become comfortable with the daily ins and outs of life here. I can navigate the metro just fine, buses are a blessing and a breeze, streets still confuse the heck out of me but that will happen in any country and on any planet, and I have picked up on a lot of French customs; one of which, though, has not been publicly displaying your love for someone in really ridicules places. Actually, I don't think I'll even get to a conversation with a guy let alone "liking" one. So that ones off the table. These dang French boys will never approach me and I sure as heck wouldn't understand them even if they did.

But, as anyone in Paris would, I've had a lot of fun "people-watching" everyone in Paris and also exploring the city where one cannot help but feel the magic of Paris. Whether it is the weekly handful of brides that I have seen traipsing around the Eiffel Tower or the instant make-out sessions on the street, Paris is undoubtedly the perfect city to fall in love. When you have someone by your side as you continually gasp at every beautiful structure and find yourselves in "movie worthy" moments, you are bound to fall in love. Kiss here, take a selfie there, take a kissing selfie over there- It's gonna happen. It's like the French pump cupid dust in the air and suddenly everyone is putting locks on a bridge and floating, arm in arm, along the Seine. (Immunity is possible, I'm proof).

So that's the first half of my conclusion. The second half came in the form of a perfect equation. Here it is:
Perfectly sunny day + Immaculate secret garden + a city rich with age and class + old couples everywhere = Versailles.

I had only ever explored the right side of Versailles which is home to the coolest Sunday market and quaint little cafes and shops. I had never been to the left side of Versailles until today, September 20th, a pretty great Sunday. Towering cathedrals that sit alongside the largest and most beautifully kept gardens dazzled my senses. I am still in shock over how perfect the setting was. The only thing missing was a camera crew and a doting couple to star in a Nicholas Sparks movie. But there were cute old couples around so I filmed my own imaginary movie today. I realized that Versailles was way less chaotic than Paris, way more romantic, much older, thus making it the perfect place to grow old with someone.

Then it hit me. France is literally the perfect setting for a lifelong love. Fall head over heels in Paris and then grow old together in Versailles. The perfect love story.

“Oh, London is a man's town, there's power in the air;
And Paris is a woman's town, with flowers in her hair;
And it's sweet to dream in Venice, and it's great to study Rome;
But when it comes to living, there is no place like home.”
