Jardin des Plantes (Or Nah...)

I woke up, Monday morning, ready to start the day and eagerly waiting have some awesome adventure. I found a Paris tour guide book on the little shelf next to my bed and started flipping through the pages. Opening up to a random page, I found a short listing for a beautiful garden in the Southeastern corner of Paris that had a Natural History museum and small zoo within the grounds. I was so excited to sit and relax  in a beautiful garden all day, especially since the sun came out! I found the direct metro line to it, successfully got off at the right stop and was feeling great!
Well, I should've looked at my map to know which direction I should start walking because apparently I started going in the wrong direction. I happened upon the coolest hospital I had ever seen, like castle worthy type building. It was magnificent! A round courtyard in front, fountain and all. But that was about all I saw....After 2 hours of walking, all I saw was business offices, dirty streets, and shabby apartment buildings. Then, when I finally found a bus stop, it took me to the Ports of Paris...Not very interesting either. I was so lost.

To compensate for that stress, boredom, frustration, and stress of trying to find a way out of that place, I dropped by a delicious smelling bakery and ordered a real French Eclair. Chocolate on chocolate, man. It was so rich but so good:) After finding the right metro, I rode it back in 30 minutes towards the main stuff in Paris and caught a glimpse of the Opera House near Notre Dame before heading home.

Basically, my day consisted of a lot of aimless walking, no sights to see, and a chocolate eclair. Better luck tomorrow!

“Oh, London is a man's town, there's power in the air;
And Paris is a woman's town, with flowers in her hair;
And it's sweet to dream in Venice, and it's great to study Rome;
But when it comes to living, there is no place like home.”
Henry van Dyke
