Floods also forced parts of the metro system and major landmarks to close, while the Louvre and Orsay museums were shut while staff moved art to safety.
While France's rainfall levels in May were the highest since 1873, the current crisis is eclipsed by the 1910 floods that saw Paris submerged for two months, when the Zouave was up to his neck in the Seine.
The only time this year that Ive been thankful for my house on top of a hill! A really big hill.... In Sevres, the parc by the Seine was basically gone and the quais around Paris were completely submerged! The boats were trapped in between whichever bridges because they could no longer pass them. Crazy!
Since the flood caused the RER C to close, it's been like heck trying to get through Sevres because of all the tourists that are now taking the metro and the bus. Oh sweet mercy taking the bus is terrible now! Packed to the brim! Hopefully the train reopens soon!!
The floating Statue of Liberty now that her island dissapeared!
