EuroCup 2016

Allez les bleus!!!

Since my family is big into soccer, the Euro Cup is a big deal to us! I'm so lucky to be included in this cultural event and my host family even bought me a t-shirt and glasses along with the kids. So awesome!

The boys have been collecting the soccer cards for a while now and adding to their collection books and I even found a Euro Cup vending machine in the train station. The streets of Paris are decked out with Euro flags and fan zones are popped up all over the city. One in Front of Hotel de Ville has a little field and booths and one in front of Montparnasse too.

Last nght, the Champ de Mars hosted the opening concert which we all watched on TV and it was awesome! The Eiffel tower made the backdrop and it was lit up in all sorts of colors and singers performed and it looked so fun! I'm going to the viewing party tonight there to watch the opening game while my host family goes to the actual game at the Stade. It's gonna be awesome!!

“Oh, London is a man's town, there's power in the air;
And Paris is a woman's town, with flowers in her hair;
And it's sweet to dream in Venice, and it's great to study Rome;
But when it comes to living, there is no place like home.”
Henry van Dyke
