Versailles with the Soeurs

School? Huh? I may have been explaining to my 10-year old today that I love learning but classrooms are kind of the last place I want to be...

With that said, when my favorite soeurs in the world invited me to hang out with them on their p-day, I jumped at the chance! Not only would it be soeur Walton and Simpson, there would also be Soeur Clark and Soeur Kitchen from another ward. I love sister missionaries!

After a crazy morning of a brain-dead phone and no contact, I managed to use the 6% battery left on my old Samsung phone to call the Soeurs and tell them I'm coming to meet them at the Chateau de Versailles. I found them and our first stop was good ol' MacDo. (Surprisingly great here in France)

*MacDo (mac-doe) is what the french call McDonalds.

Being gluten free not only saves me a lot of calories but reduces your menu options by about 98%. Fries and a salad, it is....

After the soeurs each got a Speculoos McFlurry as round 2, we headed off for the Chateau. We did a ton of walking, a ton of picture-taking (a lot of failed timer photos!) and then found out the bike rentals do not happen in the winter. We were a bit crushed but nonetheless, we walked the gardens and had a grand ol' time. There may have been some bird chasing and swan hissing that went on as well.

It was a great Monday! And I topped it off with a chocolat chaud from Starbucks because, porquoi pas!

“Oh, London is a man's town, there's power in the air;
And Paris is a woman's town, with flowers in her hair;
And it's sweet to dream in Venice, and it's great to study Rome;
But when it comes to living, there is no place like home.”
