Musee d'Orsay

In my attempt to catch up on blogging, apparently I never wrote about the Sunday after returning home from Italy. Aubrey and I heard it was the last Sunday where the admission to museums would be free due to the impending tourist season and since I still needed to check off Musee d'Orsay off my list, we jumped on the opportunity and went.

I must say, this was one of my favorite museums simply because they had my favorite Monet paintings and the cool big clocks that everyone and their dog wanted pictures in front of. I can't quite live happily without a pic of my silhouette there; it is a basic Parisian necessity.

Anyways, I was super excited to see these Monet paintings because they were the ones my mom always had hanging in our house growing up. And even better, they were featured next to Degas' Dancers and there was even some Van Gogh in the museum. While I detest staring at art for long periods of time, I really liked this museum.

And Aubrey may have filmed me dancing solo in the awesome ballroom they have there. I'm going to leave Paris and never be satisfied unless I have an ornate ballroom to live in/dance in/eat in/revel in/sleep in/do anything in. I admit it, I've become such a snob. !!!

“Oh, London is a man's town, there's power in the air;
And Paris is a woman's town, with flowers in her hair;
And it's sweet to dream in Venice, and it's great to study Rome;
But when it comes to living, there is no place like home.”
Henry van Dyke
