Bologna

The question we get from EVERYONE: Why are you going to...Bologna?

The airport, that's why! Cheapest flight home was from Bologna. There.

But we were pleasantly surprised with this adorable city! Obviously the best part had to be my discovering the BEST cannoli I have ever experienced from a back street bakery. It was fresh, huge, and had a lemony zing in the cream. Everything my heart had wished for came true in that moment. A foodie's moment of history.

Well, back to the city. Bologna was full of cool shopping centers, cool sidewalks and arches, awesome fountains and plazas and buildings, really great food, bustling markets, and it was sunny and warm when we were there for a couple days. Aubrey had booked a hotel room one night (her twin bed was about the only thing that could fit in it) and Emily and I waited a couple hours for our CouchSurf host who cancelled on us because he was, oh ya know, in Switzerland! Thanks dude. We decided to bus on over to Aub's hotel and see if we could get a room. We had reserved a space online, but upon further inspection, realized it was the same name of the hotel but in a very different city. We didn't mention that part after we had realized that... Anyhow, the flustered and confused desk man gave us a room for the cheap cost, their last room, and it was HUGE. Three king-sized beds in it? Okay we sure lucked out. Thank you Heavenly Father!

We ended the night with jumping on the bed, a dance party, and some much needed sleep. The next morning, we enjoyed a butt-load of pastries for breakfast and then hit the city where we mostly sat in the sun. A great end to our trip!

The following night, I found us a CS host who was a French lady where we spoke French to her and just slept on her massage bed for the night. Easy to find and free! It was great! Caught our plane home while Aubrey took her RyanAir flight and suffered next to a chatter box girl who wanted the world to know she was Lesbo and very political. Oh Aubrey, you're a trooper! Hahaha

Finally home to Paris and the gluten-free life again. Two things I needed and looked forward to :)

“Oh, London is a man's town, there's power in the air;
And Paris is a woman's town, with flowers in her hair;
And it's sweet to dream in Venice, and it's great to study Rome;
But when it comes to living, there is no place like home.”
