La Banque Alimentaire

"Bonjour! On collection la nourriture pour la Banque Alimentaire."
*Hand list and plastic bag. Sourie*

Julie's church class was asked to volunteer with the food bank of Sevres and stand in front of a small grocery store and ask for donations. I was all over this service project! Julie, however, was less than thrilled. (Reason #1,482 why I love being Mormon) Julie was the only girl that showed up from her class so thankfully I was her helper buddy. The director lady was one of those people that is so happy that it is essentially very frightening. Even though I didn't understand what she was saying, it was hard to talk to her when her sunshiney attitude was spilling over into everyone's space! I was hoping her enthusiasm would at least rub off a bit on Julie; she would've been any where but there...

I smiled more than I spoke (or understood) French and I think that attributed a bit to our success. I knew one line and I sold it! But a few people responded with a question and I was like a dear in the headlights. Nonetheless, I was so happy I got to do some service. So happy!

What better way to start off the season of giving than with a service project! The true Christmas spirit:)

“Oh, London is a man's town, there's power in the air;
And Paris is a woman's town, with flowers in her hair;
And it's sweet to dream in Venice, and it's great to study Rome;
But when it comes to living, there is no place like home.”
